Re: 2009 XC90 3.2 Serpentine belt

This is for the LR2 also but it has a lot of useful tips http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic33363.html When you put everything back together the spring that runs the water pump needs to get inserted back into the correct location Green Arrows One end of the spring will interface with the plastic brack...

Re: 2008 3.2 stalls/dies/won't start Topic is solved

Take a look at this link for the fuel pump module location. Volvo call this the Pump Electronic Module (PEM) https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-xc90-9/xc90-pem-fcu-replacement-tutorial-71534/ Description of the PEM from Land Rover (Note: FPDM is the same as PEM) Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) The F...

Dan^2, I don't have VIDA so I can't answer that. Did you replace the sensor shown above with the RED ARROW? If yes what did you buy? Part number? Manufacturer? From the LR2 manual (note: this should be similar for the P2 XC90 but I can't be sure) Starting process This will be different for the XC90 ...

Re: When it's time to move on (and what did you buy?)

Those can be good deals but I seriously worry about long term issues such as transmission and steering components. I'm not sure I have the heart to do what I did with my car again. I hate to say it. I just don't enjoy working on my car anymore. I have seriously considered just taking Uber/Lyft to w...

Don't forget to do a hard reset. The computers don't like it if the voltage gets too low. Hard reset = remove the negative post from the battery and let the system voltage drop to zero (capacitors need to discharge) Since you are charging the battery you should just remove the negative terminal and ...

Re: When it's time to move on (and what did you buy?)

Here's an 2008 for $7k. Not an R though. https://www.truecar.com/used-cars-for-sale/listing/YV1BW982981043253/2008-volvo-v70/ For me personally I bought a 2010 S80 3.2 for my Son to drive I would have preferred a V70 3.2 but my Son prefers the Sedan. And I completely agree that a front wheel drive ...

Dan^2, I deleted too soon. Here is the short version of what I wrote. The P3's with the 3.2 do have a problem with hot soaking and then not starting. For your P2 I am not certain exactly how the hot start problem would present itself. Let me describe what happens in my P3 1. Turn engine off but don'...

Re: Spark Plugs: Copper vs Iridium vs Platinum FF#32

S, I'm not sure if I understand your question/comment I recommended (for the 3.2 Liter) Denso SK20HR11 - this is the stock plug and it is an excellent choice for longevity Denso (5344) IKH20 Iridium Power - a good choice for smoother idle and better part throttle application Denso (4704) IKH20TT Iri...
