changing the front brake pads

Post by tvand »

Hi there,
I have a 98 V70 Turbo and I am trying to change the front pads. I cannot seem to get the calipers off. Can anyone shed some light on how to get these off, or if I even need to to replace the pads. Any info or direction to info, (step by step as I am not terribly mechanically inclined.) I have removed the clips but thats about as far as I got.
Thanks

Pads need to be replaced if they are worn down to 2mm or less. Rotors need changing if they are deeply worn or warped.

You can change pads without removing the calipers. The calipers must come off if changing the rotors.
