Head Unit Problems

I own a 98 V70 and the head unit will not get in some radio stations that are normal stations where i live. The volvo dealership says we need a new head unit. I was wondering if anyone knows of an easier(less expensive) way to fix this problem.

Is the antenna build into the rear windows?

Do you have tinted windows? AM or FM?
