emissions: needs service/OBD2 code

Post by vguy »

2001 V70 2.4T 110K - got a console nastygram saying the car needs emission service. I scooted out and bought an Innova 3100 to grab the codes and verify this was an O2 sensor problem - hoping for a straihtforward DIY sensor replacement. It pulls a volvo-specific P1174 code that the Innova site indicates is "Fuel Adaption, Bank 1".

(1) Is this an indication the #1 sensor is toast (maybe running only open-loop) or am I destined for a trip to the dealer for Big Diagnostic Efforts?

(2) Besides the one-at-a-time lookup on the Innova site, can anyone point me to a source of Volvo-specific OBD2 codes for this model?

Try clearing as it may be an anomaly if not it will return. Here is a link to codes http://www.brickboard.com/ARCHIVES/1998 ... 5417.shtml

Thanks - however, those are the well-published generic codes for (all/most) OBD2-compliant vehicles. Really looking for Volvo-specific codes.

Did you ever solve your problem? I have the same model/year car. What was the fix? Thanks.
