Open the gas tank door

Does anyone have any advice on how to open the gast tank door? Everything is unlocked but the gas tank door will not open? Help!!!

It is in the manual. Open the access door on the passenger side of the trunk, find and pull the red release latch.

*hehe* good thing this happened to me BEFORE the defective glovebox latch problem kicked in!

*hasn't seen his locked-in paper manual in years*
