Well, I know everyone is dissatisfied with the price of fuel lately. Can I get away with mid-grade in my base model V70? It is automatic with premium package, climate and convenience but, otherwise bottom of the line, no R or turbo. :?: :?

My S70 GLTSE runs fine on 87 grade fuel and I get 26 MPG around town

Run regular in it! There won't be any problems.

I have the basic V70 and always run regular in it. No problems so far at 75k miles.

You won't be hurting you car. Newer cars recognize when you put lower grade fuel in it and automatically changes the timing. Basically what will happen is you lose power and peak performance. So you won't be getting the max horsepower and acceleration speeds that you could get. It won't however hurt the engine intself.
