Door will not open from inside. Topic is solved

My S70 passenger side dorr will not open form the inside. How do I remove the panel? I could not see any screws or how it was fastened to the door frame. Any idea what the problem is?

Have you tried looking to see if there is a child lock on the edge of the door?(near the door catch), it will look like a small strip of metal sticking out of a slot. If you find it push it the other way and try the door.

Craig, Thanks for the idea but unfortunately that was not it. I am pretty sure that something has come undone inside the door. The handle opens too easily - has no resistance. Which leads me to believ that something has come off.

Chilton/Haynes 850 manual should be the same for 70 series. Check with a Volvo dealer first that the door insides are the same.

Or go to an auto parts place, look at the how-to-dissassemble-door instructions in Chilton/Haynes 850 book, and run out to your Volvo to see if the book describes your car.

Or hey, maybe the 70-series Chiltons/Haynes is out.

Either way its a great book to have around.

go to http://www.volvospeed.com/volvo_performance.php (click on repairs/maintenance and then enter bay 13) where you will find the procedure to fix the problem which is a broken part (referred to as the REPL). Common problem in S70s especially if some-one is opening the door at the same time as someone else is using the remote to unlock the car
