connector fuel pump

Post by loveMy850 »

the connector has a chip that holds the orings securely, anyway I went to the JY and got a new line,it was not easy getting the hose off of plastic holder for I think like 3 lines, I just cut the plastic strap, anyway I know it is impossible to replace the line without dropping the tank, sides what I went through at the JY and all the threads Ive read, but does anyone have any simple solutions, that may help me , I really dont know where to begin on this,I want to find the best yet easiest way. Thank you.

I assume that you're talking about the quick connectors at the top of the fuel pump?
I had one crack when I tried to remove it. I cut the factory fuel line close to the
connector, got a 1/4" brass barbed coupler at HD and 1/4" high pressure fuel line
from the auto parts store. The 1/4" line fits right over the pipe coming out of the fuel
pump, use clamps. I somehow routed the new line around to make the most gradual
bend onto the fuel pump line. I used about 6 or 8" of new rubber line and did not drop
the tank.
Here is the thread, note that I call it a 5/16" barbed coupler when actually it was a 1/4":
