Should this under any circumstances have pressure in it when I remove the cap?
I believe mine is getting ready to go. Probably original and probably in need of replacement.

On mine there is a little pressure.As the fluid gets hot, I guess it expands a little.

It may have a little pressure, but usually not much. The plastic reservoirs suck. I've replaced mine twice, and they still leak after a while. Bad design.
