850 turbo exhaust heat shield removal & installation Topic is solved

Couldn't find anything on ow to remove and instsll that pesky 2 piece turbo exhaust heat shield on my 850 so when I figured it out i made this video.



Apologies for not getting everything in the frame. Hopefully it's enough of the important parts for everyone to follow..

Fwiw, on my '98 V70 GLT the bolt pattern was the large spring loaded bolt on the lower passenger side and the smaller spring loaded bolt on the upper brace support. The regular bolts went in the other three. Pretty sure the spring loaded bolts are to dampen any rattle.

i believe you are right about that...the upper and lower position on those bolts is probably interchangeable, and likely get mixed up at times.
this apparently applies to many turbo models.. dunno if you can tag it to come up for other matching turbo set ups Mathew.

back on the forums again. Got the xc i've always wanted finally - 99 v70 xc turbo . it's so sweet. learning a slew of new stuff now and need your cats help.

Thank you for your video, I was struggling trying to remember how this came off. I used your video to get it done. Also, I wanted to make sure I had the bolt pattern correct and found the diagram below. This assembly looks similar to mine, which is on a 1998 S70 T5. Also, I have an 1996 850 Turbo, which I also used for reference, to figure out the installation.
