Does an 850 load cover fit a V70? Topic is solved

I would like to replace the load cover in the 'project' V70 as the PO has destroyed the mechanism on one end, so it works but squeeks like hell when driving.

I know of someone selling an 850 load cover which I know looks a little different and has a couple of small 'flaps' on the side facing forward to the rear of the rear seats.

Yet another of my weird questions, but anyone by any chance know?

It is not just the outer end cap that is broken, the inner section it mounts to is broken too. I'm sure it is something that could possibly be 3D printed but I know nothing about that or its limitations.

Just to finish off this post. I found the cover in Vancouver and the lady owner had lost her 850 to a crash write-off unfortunately. She went over and above and made a shipping box and carefully packed the cover in bubble wrap and foam at both ends to support the end caps. Plan to keep the well made box to store some longer parts like roof rails!

Part is in superb condition for a 20 year old part with only a few small marks that should clean up. Colour turns out to be identical to the original which has the broken end cap.

Another rocking horse poop hunt ends successfully. Got to love Volvo owners who never chuck stuff out!

I have a brand new unused load area liner (goes up the sides of the load area) for a 240 that I rescued with many other parts from a closing dealer in Scotland where I grew up. That was around 1980! Traveled with all the other crap that was in my garage from Scotland 17 years ago to Canada. In amongst all the stuff are some bits and bobs of a 120 wagon I had and others from over 20 years ago! Still have the Haynes manual and another manual for the 120 that must be nearly 35 years old!

So yes I have a problem I need to confess....!
