The factory electric block heater works well and is very easy to install on a non-turbo P80 car. You could still get a version of it from Volvo (e.g., Tasca) as of last year.

My S60 has a Python remote and one nice thing about it is the range. From my second floor office I can look out the window and see the car start up way in the back of the lot, like 200 yards away. I am pretty sure the advertised distance is something like a mile or more, I looked it up when we got the car. Otherwise it just works, and the fob has feedback indicators (so you know if you turned it on - this is important), not a lot to say. I would second the note that the installer is the key, a great remote start system could be a nightmare with a bad installer tech.
