97 850 t--5 A/C and Vaccum Lines Topic is solved

My first concern deals with my a/c. After driving the car for about 45 minutes my a/c stops blowing air in the car. You can hear that the blower is still spinning but nothing is coming out. After som rest (usually a day) the a/c will again work, but shuts off after 45 minutes. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and could shed any light?

Secondly, I got my car checked out because the check engine light was on. The code came up as EFI 2-3-2 which I was told that the vaccum lines and hoses were bad.

My final question is that I was wondering if by any stretch that these vaccum lines could have an effect on the a/c not blowing any air? I know it's a long stretch but I just want to know if it is a possibilty because I am having a discussion with the dealer and I basically think they are screwing me out of some money.

So if anyone could respond with some help I would appreciate it.

The Volvo AC is severely over engineered. There are multiple things that can go bad in the AC system. This is one area that I will go to my INDY mechanic to get checked out. It can get very expensive throwing parts at the AC and not fixing the problem.

I had a low pressure return line that would collapse when the outside temp hit 95 and above. On a hot day it would work for about 15 minutes and then it would collapse and the freon would stop flowing - hot air. I found that I could turn off the AC and wait 5 seconds and turn it back on and it would work again for a little while. I did this for a year until I had worn out the switch. I replaced the $100 dealer only switch and finally broke down and carried it my mechanic who had it fixed in 45 minutes and $400 later.
