First car show of 2025 with the 850 on Saturday and it was a local (to me) all Volvo show at the Riverside Museum of Transport in Glasgow. There were 2 other 850 estates there so we took the opportunity for a group photo

Pollen season is almost over, or over, so I put in a new cabin filter
Mann CU 2650 air filter frameless.jpg
This is the first time I've tried one of the frameless filters, Mann part number CU 2650. Seems to fit fine, and it was easier to install. It's held in by a strip of gray foam that runs around the edge of the filter media.

Changed the fuel pump on the s70 today and it started right up. Ill post up the channel locks i used which were perfect for the rings.

Changed oil on a utv and a generator with shell rotella t6 5w40. Some people swear by it, and it seems that some people use it in their 700 series. Its rated as a diesel oil, but everything sounds better with it in it. ATV shifts a lot better (wet clutchpack).

Loved every second of it.

Washed Ingrid the S70 today although she didn't even deserve it. She is giving me a hard time diagnosing a squeal that I thought was coming from the auxiliary belt area. I replaced the tensioner, idler and belt, and the squeal is still there. Tried honing in on it but it's difficult to tell. It almost sounds like it's coming from the other end, possibly in the distributor area. But that makes no sense, or does it?
I also drove her to VT on Sunday to have breakfast with my Volvo friend Mark, and that was very enjoyable.

Went to replace panhard/stay on rear of '99 XC today. Found additional damage such as a sway bar mount being destroyed. Hit everything with Fluidfilm for now, will be back under there when I return to US.

Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

Ugh. Still want to know the difference between AWD and XC stays. My life won’t be complete not knowing this.

How did that eccentric bolt look? Definitely heat the nut and turn carefully to avoid breaking, they are NLA but we have spares in stock, thanks to Neil.

My cat turned 126 years old today…my office now has 6 regulator visitors , black, black white feet. And grey not shown

Want to fix driver sill emblem. R design. Want to add backup camera. All those years without a backup camera and now I want one. Does anyone know anything about adding thise to a r design?? Note: this car had a small accident right rear corner years ago. And I found some disconnected wire harness where the rear speaker is in the trunk. Any thoughts? I'm not sure where it goes on the rear door . Maybe the license plate light assy? There's 2. Thanks for any help also Revis the cat loves the pics!!
