Volvo 850 roof trim (1997) question

Post by DennisCA »

I was told by someone on facebook that the window trim moulding on the 1st gen V70s is compatible with 855s. Anyone who can confirm / deny this? I was told the V70 design is better and doesn't break as much as the 850 and it can be swapped out.

Would be nice if it was true.

Well I am finding out for myself I guess. I found a V70 mk.1 being disassembled and I'm getting the window trim and the wiper arms too because why not.

I think it had a nice rear hatch too maybe I'll get it too.

The wiper arms fit, but do double check it does not catch on the drivers side on the hood rear edge. The doors are similar so much may transfer. Let us know how it goes!

I have got them now and they look identical to my 850 trim except whole of course. Will be an improvement. I've got the metal fasteners in rust converter for now.

Here's one installed, car is a bit dirty, been standing for 2 months now. Today I hope to apply basecoat and clearcoat to the fenders and then reassembly can begin.
