My 1.8T was an "AWM" code, maybe not the same? 2001 Audi, 180hp.

Mine was either an AWM or AMB, can't remember. VW engine codes are weird lol.

Sold my Volans and winter tires that were for the V70R. Bought them the year my wife decided we were stopping using the R in the winter!
Still have a refinished set of Thors for the 'winter' storage tires as well as the summer rims.

Tires are now getting on in age but never used. My mechanic decided he had to have them for his 850 AWD winter tires and rims. He already has a set of Volans for summer use. Clears more stuff out the garage. Now just have to get rid of the Toyota rims and tires that are no longer used and I can free up a large piece of one corner of the garage!

It's amazing how much room 4 wheels with tires takes up. 2 or 3 stacks of those, and a big shop vac, and no more garage stall!

I had 4 sets of wheels and tires, now down to 3. They are mounted on 2 custom wheeled racks that can hold 2 sets of rims. My friend made these for me using 4 of those wall mounting units and then built 2 steel and frames for them to drop into with wheels. Getting rid of even 2 sets clears about 10-12 square feet of floor space for more 'stuff'. That is more than enough room for a table for a my small sand blast cabinet and possibly even a floor mounted coil spring compressor or small shop press.

Tosh - always nice to see someone spent money for OEM parts on less important stuff

Karla - this was a VA 'Don Beyer' car and the AWD rear axle was 'far from hateful' - to coin a favourite phrase from a subMARiner I know.

It's rare to get that lucky, especially on an auction car. My '04 Titan that I bought at Copart earlier this year came with brand new Michelins. Actually come to think of it, most cars I've picked up at auction have had nearly new tires on them. It seems people get new tires then wreck their cars.

I drove a 2.5 5-cylinder, and I was shocked at how little zoom it had.

I didn't know VW had a 5 cylinder until I saw one at auction. I was immediately intrigued since I've liked my Volvo 5s. I didn't end up buying it, as I think the car had other issues.... might have been the car that I found the driving position to be awful.

A new to you truck with good rubber is a total score. Sometimes in trafffic, I ask Siri to price the tires on the 20 inch monster truck next to me. Some of them are $600 a piece. Imagine rolling down the road on $2400 of tires! Thats 5 Volvos!!
