Theory of Operation of 99 C70 Computer Communications

I have no communications on my 1999 C70. I've studied up on how to diagnose a CAN bus, but I just learned this vehicle isn't CAN. Where can I learn how this car communicates between controllers?

'99 & later cars have CAN network.
'97 850 2.5 20v / fully equipped / Motronic 4.4 from the factory / upgraded with S,V,C,XC70 instrument cluster / polar white wagon
