Hi again everyone - Ill likely be a frequent flyer here. So I'm now in the stage of basically stage 0'ing this c70.
I want to get it to a point where I know its bone stock/OEM and then I may do a few mods to it. I went down to the garage and took a picture under the hood and have a few concerns. hoping to get some answers here on if they are valid concerns or not. Ill post a picture and concerns below!
1. General dirtiness - can I clean this with like a hose/sprayer? or is it better to wipe it all down
2. oily/leaky plastics - I'm trying to find if the oily plastics is just cause this car is old or if its actually an issue. is there a test I can do? I've heard about smoke tests but not entirely sure how to do one of those.
3. wetness near oil cap. This doesn't burn or leak any but I always notice this. any concerns here? (when doing the plugs there was a ton of pooled oil under the coil packs. I'm assuming from the prior owner. I have cleaned all that up and haven't noticed any more.)
4. few circled things - I taped a coolant line as it had a small leak. ill replace this soon, bottom right air intake line ( I think) doesn't seem long enough. it just barely connects on both ends. can I get a longer one?
above that there is exposed wires. is that a problem?

Oil around the oil fill cap can be one of 2, possibly 3 items:
1) Just the large flat seal washer has shrunk and gone hard allowing oil fumes to get by it.
2) Careless filling of the oil and splashing it around the area.
The third option is the PCV system needs serviced. Look for glove test to check if the system is blocked or partially blocked. I'd look at 1 and 2 first. Clean the area, and then fit a new seal. Glove test is easiest with 2 people, one in the car and one checking the glove response when the engine is running. A quick 5 minute test.

Not too sure what 1. means entirely. I'll look into it!
I'm thinking its partially a sloppy oil fill. When I bought the car roughly 2 months back it had a bit too much oil in it. did an oil change and filter and have been monitoring for leaks or burning oil and it seems good.
I did do a quick glove test and noticed the glove was getting sucked in. From my understanding that is a good thing.

You’ve got classic oil cap seep, see the trace all around the cap?
Also the ps reservoir is seeping a bit, can be deferred
That tape in the coolant overflow pipe is a bit scary. You don’t want that to leak pressure, bad for engine.
Reroute that ps line on the other side of that hard steel AC line, that will chafe through.

a few questions - is rerouting the power steering line as simple as just making it go under/over others? or do I need to buy a new longer one?
same for the coolant overflow pipe - how do I find what size I currently have, or is it as simple as walking into an oreileys and just asking them?

Just a re- Route under the hardline, but you will have to catch the oil in the can. Maybeagood time to change that fluid with ATF or CHF ? I tend to use ATF on an AT car so I don’t have to carry an extra fluid.
That hose is Volvo Expansion Tank Hose - Genuine Volvo 9470676, probably about $40. Generic 7 mm ID coolant hose will do, but Route it carefully and zip tie because it gets close to spinny bits.
