Yep - science buff here (family uses Nerd as opposed to buff). Ok the lower hose does get hot and is slightly less warm to the touch as opposed to the upper hose whaicj is what we would expect. HOWEVER, I will check with an infrared temp gun tonight. Both hoses are brand new, same manufacturer. I tested the recirculator and while it was hotter the difference was not huge. Again - will run temperatures tonight and provide actual data.
thanks!!!

Ok, my system is definitely running ok. After commuting, i left the car running, grabbed my temperature gun and digital probe. here are the results:
Temperatures:
Thermostat housing: 203.2
Upper Radiator Hose: 183
Lower Radiator Hose: 158
56 degrees outside during my tests. When parked max heat produced 140 out of the vents. Driving - the temp out of vents varied between lower 130s to 140. Recirculation raised the temp a few degrees but not a huge difference.
