You replace the entire section on the rear. Use the old section to pull the new section through.

But if it is just the wire, wouldn't it make sense to just solder in a new wire. The rear OEM sensors/harness is $205.

If you can see where the break is actually at. . Most just get another harness from the Junkyard.

This is an insanely low price, I'm not really looking for OEM as they don't last anyways and are way too expensive.

Have you guys tried this Chinese stuff, at that price it might be worth trying and if it fails oh well no ABS; which I've been living with for years. I called around and the aftermarket parts are almost or more expensive than the dealer part.

The OEM part is actually super durable, the few failures you have discussed are rare. I would go with a junkyard part. Maybe try the cheapo and if it falls apart then just switch to the junkyard part in a couple months. But if the cheapo lasts then ... success!

Found the connector for the rear sensor, it is behind the passenger truck side carpet thing and is yellow. Not easy to get to, I had to remove a lot of clips Checked the resistance at the connector and it is showing open, so at least the wiring to the trunk is okay.
I'm going to cut the wire, pull it out and see if I can find the problem. I tried to remove the sensor and yes they are stuck in there so hopefully it is just a wire problem. If it is the sensor, I will have to smash it out I guess, its stuck on like glue. Crossing fingers.................!

I think my new sensors were 20 bucks on ebay, when they came in the mail, I knocked my old ones out (they broke coming out) and replaced them and done.

Rspi: the module on the 850 was replaced by Midwest already. No drilling holes for me
Update: the problem is the sensor itself even though it looks fine. I cut the wire and did a resistance test. The wire is very high quality. Something different from what you've experienced matty.
Phils: I know why you dropped your gas tank. The yellow connector gets stuck. I am only replacing one sensor, ( I will try the Chinese special) so I have cut the wire and fished a string. I will then attach the new sensor to the string, and pull it through. No need to drop the tank. For me I'd rather keep an oem sensor if it is working.
