p0455 code and other stuff thats messes up

p0455 code and other stuff thats messes up

1. Just got a ck. eng. lt. code= P 0455 = evap emmissions control system leak (large ) what should I look for. cleared lt. not on for last 20 miles.

2.Tried cleaning window switch bank . ... no luck. need best place to get parts

3.emergency flasher button won't come out when pressed ... ang suggestions

4.Put seafoam in oil change today @7 onces . read here that I should drain the oil after a few miles. I think you mean if I did an intake treatment too .(then alot of junk would be getting into the oil pan right ?) can says you can leave it in until oil gets dirty.Thinkin about 500 miles or so . also put some in the gas tank. thoughts.... advise

1. I hope the light doesn't come back on...if it does, check the hoses to the charcoal canister under the driver's side fender- One could be broken.
2. Those window switches won't come clean- trying to clean them makes them worse. Sorry...I've tried about everything and they get gunked up more when I clean them.
3. You should be good at 500 miles.

+1 on above suggestions. I would only add that you might check the gas tank filler cap for tightness and proper sealing (is the gasket ok?). Also, on my '97 the cause of the code was eaten-through rubber couplers on the roll-over valve which is located (on the 97) next to the fuel filter. Some critter (a squirrel?) ate the rubber and made a big leak. I replaced the hoses but about a month later, the light came back on and sure enough the new hoses were nibbled through too. Wrapping the new rubber hoses with metal duct tape seems to have foiled the critters for now.

I don't, 100 miles and change the oil, no more
500 miles is too long
When we do a Seaform job, after all the junk finishes smoking out the back, we drive it for an hour or so and change the oil right then!

What's the best way to check out the canister on an 850?

You can't see anything by pulling the turn signal light, like you can on an x70.

Do you just drop the canister? Can't tell if you can do that without trashing the connections on top.
