Cranks stumbles, but wont start when cold part 2

Post by MilehighV70XC »

The spark plug colors really worry me. Looks like maybe a bad gasket in #3 causing coolant to get into 2 and 4? Is that why the plugs look to have rust on them? Also have a constant code 1132, O2 sensor, but I have replaced with OEM and still get the code. Still trying to track down a vacuum leak.

This is what they looked like after warming the car up to do the compression test. Just idle, did not drive the car. Plugs #4 and #5 have oil on the threads and plug #4 looked like I dipped the threads and elctrode in oil.l--- bad valve cover o-rings?

Background--Since the first no start about three weeks ago, I have popped cods, p0300, p0302, p0303, p0304. The codes came on at different times while trying to start after resetting the code each time one popped up.

I have lost a little coolant over the time this has all been happening. Just came back from a 500 mile trip in the mountains. On the way I used enough to turn on the low coolant light. On the way back barely used any. I know using any is bad. I have no coolant in the oil and no oil in the coolant. Checked all coolant and heater parts no leaks. Slight white smoke out the back when cold goes away once warmed up.

So it sound like a head gasket. I rented a compression tester and am not sure if it was working right. Anyway, all the cylinders read around 60 but the tester would not hold pressure, just bounce up to that mark. All the cylinders did the same thing so not sure what that means. Going to buy a compression tester this weekend.
