Average price for Indy mechanic to replace exhaust manifold on non-turbo V70 Topic is solved

I have exhaust coming in the car (checked with meter) and I know my exhaust manifold needs to be replaced.

Assuming an Indy mechanic buys a Genuine Volvo OEM manifold to replace it, what is an acceptable or average price range for this job? I'm on the East Coast if that matters.

I was considering buying a cheaper non OEM one on eBay and doing it myself, but I have a second job again and I don't have as much spare time. Thanks.

It's 2.7 hours in Alldata for a NA P2, so multiply local rate by 3 to ballpark labor

A genuine manifold will set you back some serious coin, like $500 plus his markup. Can you get the indy to buy the eBay one? They are totally adequate, many have used them.

If you are talking about the flexible downpipe, the best is to purchase a flex pipe with interlock, and have the garage undo the bolts to the manifold and after the catalytic converter, cut the old flexible and weld new one in place. It should be done in about 1.5h. That's what it took my local garage on my non turbo. Just make sure the guy knows it's job. Before cutting the old flexible out, he must know how to position properly the flexible before welding it.

oragex's solution sounds good and less expensive.

I did the Exhaust Manifold replacement in 2011 and wrote it up 6 years ago.
It was a tough job, it took about 3-4h.

ok so I'm confused. Been searching the internet trying to better understand the exhaust manifold and its various issues. Can someone with some experience in this look at the following two links and let me know what the difference is between the two?

"Volvo S70 Exhaust Manifold OEM" being sold on eBay - it doesn't look like there is any flex pipe aspect to this piece.

The two look very different, although I have seen this part # 9471934 being sold through multiple Volvo dealers and sites as "Genuine Volvo"

Sonic, your post has only one link, it's a manifold for a turbo car. For 98-onward, GLT means "turbo car."

NA and turbo exhaust manifolds are very different. It is easy to find a used turbo manifold in good shape, but difficult to find a used NA manifold in good shape because the flex pipe wears out.

There are a bunch of shiny, new NA manifolds available on eBay for between $75 - 150, depending on quality, price gouging, etc. I haven't been keeping up with which one might be recommended these days.
