1994 850 Turbo Wagon - Random Stalling
1994 850 Turbo Wagon - Random Stalling
A while ago I posted here about an issue I had with my '94 850 Wagon. It kept stalling at odd times, either when the car was cold and I had driven it 2 miles or right before I got to work (25mile drive one way), didn't matter when or where. It would randomly stall. Recently replaced the fuel filter and battery and also bought a 1994 compatible OBD II code reader. Ran it this morning and it's showing no codes whatsoever. I've replaced the air filter, done an oil change and replaced the oil filter as well. I'm pretty much at my wits end as to what is wrong, I do know the turbo needs to be replaced within the next 6 months, but not sure if that would cause an issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!

+1 on Fuel relay and try installing a multimeter setup to measure current across your fuel injection fuse. See how much juice that pump is pulling at idle.
When it stalls out does it still sound like the pump is running for a second or two after the car dies? Do you still have instruments when it cuts out?

That definitely could be, would the fuel pump matter at all?

I still have instruments when it stalls, and I have heard the pump keep going after it stalls. I'm also trying to DIY on this so havnt used a multimeter setup.wizechatmgr wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2017 3:55 pm +1 on Fuel relay and try installing a multimeter setup to measure current across your fuel injection fuse. Not sure on your year but mine on the 99 looks like that plus 2 small terminals.
Would suggest just pulling yours out and jumpering it to see if you get a difference. Robert's channel has a good video on that.
