1994 Volvo 855T, No crank after manual swap!

1994 Volvo 855T, No crank after manual swap!

Ive just gotten the car back together after the swap to find it won't crank, if I put the key in and turn to position 3 the tachometer goes up to 3K (never did that) then when I turn to crank I either hear nothing or ill hear a very quiet whirring sound and the speedo will go up to 30mph. then after trying to crank ill hear a loud whirring & rapid relay sound near fan and intake.

Battery charged and good, PNP jumped, clutch bleeded, all ground wires connected, and never disconnected any starter wires.

Also the break lights are ow always on....

Update: Well turns out it was a ground fault, the braided ground straps that attach to the rear of the valve cover were ripped off, cranks strong now!

Well the feeling is back but hopefully tomorrow ill have it sorted out. It runs now but awful! Hard starting, rough idle, and backfired a couple times (sounds terrifying with a straight pipe). But by the end of the day we figured out that the rotor got bent so swapped it out and it fired right up and idled beautifully! Took it for a test drive and it started idling at 200RPM with no response from the throttle and every light on the dashboard lit up. Although during the test drive we didn't have the drive belt on and the battery was pretty flat so were hoping the weird idle is due to no alternator and a weak battery.

I just realized your RobertDIY! Ive been watching your videos ever sense highschool when I bought my first car, a 99 Volvo V40 back in 2014. Your videos helped me get from not knowing how to change my oil to swapping my transmission! :D

Opps never got back to this thread! So turns out the crank/pulse sensor I ordered from china to save a few $$ a few months before the swap was defective! Put the sensor from the manual parts car in it and it ran and still runs beautifully! Also the ABS light finally went out and has stayed un-lit.
