Hi All,
I watched a video from Robert today about Volvo parts that should absolutely not be left in the junkyard and thought it was a great thing to keep in mind. I figured this would be a good topic thread to start up on the forum. Here are the things that he listed as to never leave, as they will be needed someday by someone (or you!) and should be saved from being eventually crushed. Add away with parts that are becoming scarce, will eventually break or are just good to have on hand.
-Mass Airflow Sensor
-Volvo branded center hub covers
-Volvo jacks (1998 and later), better jacks than prior years
-Fog light grills
-Lift gate struts
-Volvo branded headlights/turn signals/taillights/fog lights/door lights
-Cargo shade for wagons
-Free tools (haha)

Nice list!
I always try to grab whatever I can when I go to the junkyard. Anything that looks valuable or it's something I know someone will probably need, I add it to my stock of Volvo parts.

This is a very dangerous thread for me! I find it hard to leave ANY parts at PnP/junkyards.
My garage is full of parts stashed away 'just-in-case'. Problem is I have ended up with a whole bunch of parts I will probably never use as I have several multiples!! LoL.....
However here are a few that I try to keep an eye out for mainly for AWD cars:
1) Good lower torque arms. Almost never find any, maybe one in many visits.
2) SC-900/1 radios, amps and amp to radio cables (cables are obsolete)
3) Vent pipes for the AWD fuel tank on top of it. Requires pulling the whole rear subframe on AWD. Takes about 2 hours to do.
Neil.

Bare minimum, first level collection is sensors, you should always have these spares around if you have a 98-earlier P80 car, having them can save you countless troubleshooting headaches:
MAF
Cam sensor
Crank sensor
Throttle position sensor
ECT sensor
(level 2: ignition coil, EVAP solenoid, baro sensor, accelerometer)
Parts you should save lest they go to the crusher:
Volvo axles!
Parts that are worth looking for: anything new.

Fuel level sending units, (especially the older sliding cylinder type). You might not ever need it, but try finding one when you do.
Fuel pump relays.
Wheel speed sensors.
Battery hold downs.
Shift knobs and any other plastic fantastic stuff that's in good shape.

If you can find those, you better get them and take pictures to prove they exist!
Since you mentioned it, heated rear seats are very hard to come by. Definitely worth grabbing, along with the switches and center console/rear console panel.
