hello, i have a 95’ 850, and the ecc doesnt work properly, sometimes it comes back on and everything is normal, but thats like 1 out of 20 times..
I have read out these codes, from the B1 terminal: 135-143-417-418
Anyone with the same problem, how to solve it etc.
Thanks!

Re: ECC
You used to be able to get the 135 code fixed at Sears.

Re: ECC
Some of the codes you listed may no longer be active, so I would start by resetting all the codes, operating the system for a day or so and observe which codes return.
The first code (135) is for No signal from engine coolant temperature sensor. If still active, this issue may cause a rough running engine and no reading on the dash for engine temperature.
The second (143) is for Faulty signal from passenger’s side temperature selector switch. For this you may need to clean the switch mechanism inside the ECC. If you open up the ECC, be sure also to check for burned capacitors or other components inside since you have a code 418 (see below).
The third (417) is for Passenger’s side interior temperature inlet fan seized. This is a common problem. You can remove the temperature sensor and gently clean out the dust to free up the fan motor.
The fourth (418) is for No control signal to blower fan power stage. This could indicate a broken wire, open or damaged connector, a failed ECC or a failed power transistor. Some signal tracing may be needed. This problem may be associated with the symptom you describe that the fan is only running at slow speed.

Edited to reflect usage of ECC for climate system as opposed to control unit.

Good luck.
The threads below have helpful advice on diagnosing the 418 code. In the situations described below, the power transistor was determined to have failed and replacing it restored some or all of the system's functionality.

Re: 1995 850 Electronic CLimate control , control unit fault codesECC
So, i forgot to update u guys.
I went to the scrapyard and was going to see if i could find a power stage, but with no luck. then i took the fan out of the car and saw that the fan and motor was full of dust and dirt. I cleaned the elmotor with electroclean a couple times, and i took some sandig paper and went over the contact, just to be sure that there where good contact.
i used lithium-grease to lube the rod that goes through the elmotor and on tho the fan. now it moved freely and i put it in the car again. Voila, it was the fan that caused the problem, and now i have heat again. thats awesome, because its winter, and the temperature is always below 0 degrees celsius

We have a program to vacation people from Norway in Haiti. We try to get them to stop here in the US but they always leave when they see our health care system, our roads, and AM radio
