Sometimes the passenger side exterior door will not unlatch when I pull the handle. It just started doing this a couple of weeks ago. I may have to pull it three or four times to get it to open. I also noticed that when the handle springs back into place it doesn't go all the way back into place like it should. There is a small gap between the handle and the door. Is there an adjustment on the handle? Anyone ever dealt with this?
Thanks

Sounds like the door handle is getting worn out. The handle just bolts in and there is no adjustment. The bolts are under the plastic cover on the door jam. I suggest you remove the door handle clean & inspect it. Replace if necessary.
Hope you don't need to replace the door latch. To get the door latch out on a '98 C70, one needs to remove the window and detach the inside door handle cable from the latch, while working in a confined space ... it is a PIA you rather avoid.
S/V 70s are not so bad they have a different window regulator and a access port which let one remove the latch, cable and indoor handle as a assembly.

Took the handle off last night and inspected it. Everything looked fine so I lubed everything I could see inside the door and reassembled it. The handle now goes all the way back in. Now an odd problem is happening though. About half the time I have to pull the handle twice to get the door open. I pull it the first time and the door pops loose but it catches on the latch. I then pull the handle again to open the door the rest of the way.

Got it fixed. The part where the haldle catches the latch just had to be tweeked a little. Fortunately the latch assembly wont have to come out. The regulator is gonna have to come out soon anyway though. It's been broken ever since I've owned the car. It's gonna be nice to have a passenger window that works.
