Ouch! There’s a good example of a snapped P80 axle. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to mine.

There is no way a 5 cm steel axle snapped off without a defect..

Doesn't look that bad, time to bring the welding machine. But a above, hopefully the carrier bearing & other staff inside didn't take a hit
I've heard it may work rotating a bit then trying to pull, rotate again and so on. Just hope it's not because of a too large size circlip

Being an aftermarket axle, it just might be. We had the same problem with an Autozone axle on my cousin’s S70, but fortunately we got it out.
I didn’t get a chance to work on it today, but I should be able to take care of it tomorrow. I’ll update everyone with what happens!

There were many comments against the aftermarket drive axle. CN90 wrote a comprehensive procedure which helped me rebuild too. More here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=62033

This is where I am now... got it out MAYBE another 1/2 mm. I can’t figure out how to get it out without damaging it, as I’d like to try to return it.

##!!#$@@%^@*@&*!^!%$%!#% aftermarket axles.
Seems like an oversize circlip problem, not sure how to remedy that. Seeing the pic I definitely think "needs a huge pickle fork." And clearance.
Maybe a couple of wedges, one on either side, drive them up one by one. You can even try wooden wedges to minimize damage to the trans case but this may be too stuck for that.
