Symptom, dome lights come on with switch in power And door position. Have to figure out why it’s triggered in door position.

I never though this was worth a thread until I pulled up the diagram from AllData

Ohm out the dome light switch. Make sure [Door] is not shorted to [Power]. Part substitution, if you got an extra laying around, would be the easy way to determine if it is the dome light switch.

These switches in dome lights assembly go crazy over time. When I turn on both lights, only one side lights up but the other one wakes up when I touch corresponding switch. I guess they need cleaning inside.

Agreed, super common in the dome switch, get all kinds of crazy behavior. I have been cleaning them or swapping them out when it happens. It's always been the dome switch fore me, not a short somewhere, YMMV.

I put a new one in as the old one crumbled into entropic bliss from age old plastic

The new one, part 9483142 was actually made in 1999 but the plastic was like new - its sun/ozone/heat that kill these, not time.

Dome light is 10/22 assembly in the diagram above - that is a real Rube Goldberg of electrical logic for a lousy dome light.

My new one has same symptom - lights up on door position, has to be turned to off.

Check the rear lights too, at the grab handles, I've had problems back there that made the dome light misbehave. Can't remember what it was though ...

3/100 & 3/110 are the Door Lock Modules. It could be that one of the two is not opening when you close the door or you got a short on one of the circuits.

Well this should be fun

Neither the front (3/100, 3/110) nor the rear (3/76. 3/77) door switches control actual voltage of course, they send logic signals to the 2/76 lock controller (my verbiage)

They all show as normally open (when doors are closed?) so I should be able to go around and try to find a lock module that is closed with my test gear.

10/97 & 10/102 are the floor lights under the dash. Are the floor lights always active, are the bulbs good? If you look at the circuit you 3/100, 3/110 must be normally open when the door is closed, otherwise the floor lights would always be on.

If the floor lights are operating as they should, 3/100 & 3/110 are functioning as they should.

You can use the floor lights to test 3/100, 3/110. Just make sure the floor lamps are good. Else you could use the harness to the floor lamps for a test point.
