1999 S70NA Evita dome light 9483142 troubleshooting [Passenger door switch fault]

It's never the ECU. It's always the overhead switch panel. Keep an eye on your hood springs.

I probably fat fingered it. I’ll check the ECU in the morning, or maybe it’s bad gas. Come to think of it, if I wash my old hood springs with bad gas, could that hurt the ECU?

Car is in VIDA hell getting keys made at moment, so not nearby.

Well, checking the green box myself mistake worked a miracle

I stopped in on the car and the dome light is working perfectly

Turns off 18 seconds afterward door closing

Electrical connection on the fritz. Your fiddling with it push it toward the light.

Hood spring now match damping of the rear hatch strut.

Proof is left as an exercise

...and it is back. Dome lights will not turn off with all doors closed.

Trunk lock is also not working correctly - AH-HA!!!!

I wonder if a lock not in correct place will mess up sleeping modules and inhibit VIDA from Programming mode.....Hmmmmmmmmmm

Trunk lock has always been a b*&%^ on that car.

Having done the latch on my V70 I know what the problem is , it’s a simple repair on a complex System!

...and the S70 is completely different than the v70...

The V70 handle release is a mechanical plunger acting on the latch, the S70 is an electrical switch actuating the lock solenoid in parallel with the driver door switch

On a V70, pushing the button unlocks the tailgate, does not pop it

On the S70, the button pops the trunk up, via electrically
