clicking noise on 98 s70
I am starting to hear a clicking noise when throttle is pushed as if there is something rattling against exhaust. Unfortunately, i have searched while someone has pressed on the gas and cannot pin point where sound is coming from. I do know cv axles need done. But if I'm correct, they only do the clicking noise only while making sharp turns. correct???? This sound usually occurs when car is accelerating. the harder you push on the gas, the louder the clicking or rattling noise is. Engine is maintained with proper oil and has enough in it. Injectors??? Any help is good with this situation.

Is it more of a clicking, or a rattling? Does the noise occur when reving the engine in neutral while stationary? Could be lifter tick, which is a sign the oil pickup seals need replacing.

in neutral not as loud but still noticeable. I definitely appreciate your input on the subject. Is that expensive to fix and do you recommend changing all at once. Any other maintenance i should do while top off of motor?

Oil pickup seals is a bottom end job. Not overly difficult for two people to do in the driveway on a nice Saturday. Regardless, you have to isolate the noise. Use a length of rubber hose, or an inverted long funnel, or ear on long screwdriver while someone revs the engine to isolate the noise. Videos usually don't help much, but you can try posting one.
