After head gasket replacement question!!!
I replaced the head gasket and valve stem seals.....I started her up for the flush and everything was good to go! It warmed up and I draind coolent and oil.....let sit over night draining....filled up fluids and started her up.....was running great untill I pulled it out of the garage and then all of a sudded realy ruff Idle and it stalled..... Alot of smoke from exhaust......oil light came on befor it stalled!!!! I think that I didnt seat the valve steams all the way......would this be a good assumption???? Im thinking that one or more started to leak/pop off once compression was added.....Whats anybodys input?!?!?!?.....like I said it was running for probably a total of an HR. befor the symptoms. Thanks

Ugh, hope not! If you suspect that problem with the valve stem seals, then check the compression now.

the valve seals would not affect compression. They would foul the plugs with oil and there would be lots of smoke. The oil light may have just come on due to the lower rpm before stalling. check the oil, coolant and see if they are mixing. check compression as per above to see if the head gasket sealed. might be just a coincidence or some sensor not connected from the work, or not enough coolant and minor overheating.Hard to burp the system of air. which car is this?

I think it will start right up and run fine... but maby for the heck of it pull off the front cover and look at the belt first. If it wont run then some questions: what color was the smoke? why did you pull the head? did you surface it or check for flat? did you use all the original parts? new head bolts? torque wrench? how does the oil look? throttle position sensor Hooked up? was your foot on the break when the problem happened? how is the break fluid level?
