Hi
First post so take it easy on me please
I noticed yesterday that the boot open light was on which sometimes happens if I touch the remote (shrek fingers),
But the boot wasn't open I faffed about with remote door switch and the light went out, I also noticed the o/s door window wouldn't work on the switch so I took the door panel of to check if anything had come loose(no joy), when I turned the ignition the boot light was on again and I had the roof down so I had to hand crank the roof up(not a job for a 9st weakling) luckily I'm 6 feet and 19st, anyway enough of war and peace any ideas what could be the problem the boot works on the remote and on the inside door switch so I've discounted the solonoid any ideas
Sorry about the long winded intro
Best Ron

Very well could be a broken switch. Been there, done that with my V70. Best thing I can advise as a quick bodge is to just disconnect the latch for the time being and make very sure your key works! You can get a used one from a scrapper or ebay, new one from wherever you prefer. I would imagine that's quite an annoying problem on a C70, haven't had issues with mine just yet, knock on wood.

Hi
Thanks for the reply
I don't think it has anything to do with the switch as I've changed it and the boot release works on the fob the light went out yesterday so I tried the roof and only the rear lifted up(hand cranking again) I think I'll see an auto spark and see if its a relay of some kind

If you have a Vida/Dice, it will tell you where the problem is. Mine has 4 errors dealing with the rear locks and latches. An Indy shop in Houston did tell me that these cars often bend the frame during normal use and that throws the top out of whack. Also, the dealer told me the top needed to be completely removed and realigned in order to get it working. How true any of this is would be speculation, I think they just don't want to work on it! Expensive yes, about $700 USD, and then possible micro switches or potentiometers after that.
