I’m not perfect by any means or measure, but I’m trying to buy from places that employ people more and more, and with good practices. Vote with pocketbook.

I do appreciate you are trying to get a decent part here, though. Let us know what the Nugeons look like.

I wonder of 1mm diameter difference matters? The clamp force on those bolts is so high they aren’t going to move once torqued

I have used Nugeon before and they were way better finished and re-manufactured than any others I have had. Hopefully you have a similar experience.

Neil.

I agree and I try to do the same. It's really bugging me - I hovered over that submit button forever. This project and car value have skewed the price frame of reference. I'm actually not shopping the cheapest, just the difference between the Volvo part for many many dollars and the best-built remanufactured. Makes you wonder who exactly rebuilds the Volvo calipers.

There's a company I used to use called ECS Tuning, in Ohio. BMW, VW, Porsche, Audi, etc parts. They used to be great. Now they package bad plastic Chinese-made "kits" of parts. I started to stay away. They were bought up by a hedge fund or something, fired most of the staff, made everything automated - much disgruntlement! I stopped buying from them after the junk arrived and then this news.

The latest is over the last year, they have bought Turner Motorsport in MA, which is one of the better BMW performance and OEM parts houses. They run team cars at Sebring, Daytona, etc. They've been gutted - all the phones and emails forward to ECS. The parts descriptions and photos are all ECS.

Then they bought Pelican Parts in CA, a long-time standard with the Vintage Porche crowd - also great OEM and aftermarket parts for other cars, including Saab and Volvo. They have their own forum for makes. They have great DIY write-ups with photos. They've also been gutted by ECS and its new owners.

So the parts business is in real turmoil right now.

I generally trust both Ipd and FCP (better now than a few years ago), but in this instance, I didn't like the selection they stock.

That's too bad I used to buy from Pelican.

I get my Toyota parts at RockAuto, don't have the time to scour the TN forums for the right source. Their business model sucks but their parts selection, descriptions, service and pricing are all very good. Not the ECS experience. Nor the FCP one of course.

Measured my existing and the new Nugeon-built mounting holes - both measure 11mm.

Including these pics so others can see what they're getting with this choice.

Even more hardware - I ordered too many OEM kits, and now here's another in the box - who knows what quality.

Never got these put on today. Spent the day running to the hardware store for more stainless bolts and rebuilding a rusted out compost drum. Spins nicely and not rusted through now, and Mrs Bart the B-day girl is quite pleased!

Added part numbers to title for search for both left/ right

It looks like these fit the whole P80 line from 1994-2000, and up to 2004 for the C70, but I do know the R model might need a different caliper and mount.

So of course they sent me two right calipers.......gawd. Another weekend gone - this should have been finished weeks ago.
Inlet port and bleeder screw should both be at the top.
IMG_4545.JPG
Note lack of molding detail on bottom one. Makes me wonder if it was caked with rust.
IMG_4546.JPG

So I put the right one on, new Ate hardware.

Yep , they blast the rust off and put a nice finish on it. The important work is in the inside where the piston and seals ride, and , of course, piston and pin metal quality

Well, tomorrow we’ll all learn more about the real costs of going the cheapskate route, and dealing with a human-less returns department.
