2006 xc90 v8 serpentine belt issue

Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo XC90s. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America).

How many miles were on the idler bearing that failed? I did mine with the timing belt on schedule, at 105k (I think), and they felt ok. Wondering if you went farther on them, or if it was more dependent on the environment or something.

Congratulations! Good to hear that all is well and you saved a bundle to boot.
It's funny how after a relatively major service like this, you always wonder if you did it right. Seriously, I changed my timing belt and all the associated items almost a year ago and I still sometimes wonder if it's going to break due to some error I made. Well, after thousands and thousands of miles, I think I am safe. :lol:
