2005 xc90 left door turn signal off when door closed

drivers door turn signal works when door is open, goes off when door is closed. message shows bulb failure.

broken wire in section that "hinges" when door is opened/closed

pulled light fixture out of door. wire now not flexing with door movement. still happens. cannot duplicate problem by flexing wire outside of door. any other electrical connections in door to turn signal circuit?
