I'll apologize in advance for the cross-post. This is a site for information gathering and sharing so I'll add this link- https://forums.swedespeed.com/forumdisp ... Management
For anyone who does not have VIDA available, there's a thread within the forum link above for installing 2014D as a standalone virtual machine image. Seems daunting but it's pretty straight forward (VM player, VM image). Follow the instructions, read the rest of the thread to make sure you did not miss anything but when all is said and done if you get it all set up, you'll have a fully functional copy of the best Volvo reference around at your fingertips. This can be installed with or without a DICE (separate piece of hardware, information also in the forum link). I had an issue with a "broken" installation on my desktop last month, after a couple of weeks of troubleshooting to no avail (VIDA Monitor will not complete SQL DB connection), I decided to try the VM version out. Works great...
At this point, if you have a decent working PC and can follow instructions, there's pretty much no reason you cannot have a VIDA reference available, with or without a separate DICE.
Good luck !
