Our 2014 Volvo XC90 has the original 12V 90AH 800A that came with the vehicle.
Recently, the cabin lights were left on, and the battery was dead. Now the battery doesn't seem to want to hold a charge.
I'm guessing 5 years is the expected life of the battery. The battery claims no maintenance so I haven't tried to figure out how to check water levels yet. Not sure that would help unless this battery is supposed to last a lot longer than five years.
The manual actual specifies 520A CCA and 100 min reserve which seems a bit lower than the current battery.
A search on the auto parts stores (Autozone/Pep . Boys) brings up a long list of batteries that will fit the XC90. The suggested batteries range across several sizes which makes me think this vehicle will accept a range of replacement batteries sizes.
I'm interested in recommendations/experiences with replacement batteries. It seems the warrantees are no longer as generous as the Bosch 96 month warranty for my 850 battery. Seems 3 years is the max warranty. Currently looking at the H8 size.
I see a few batteries with 900 CCA and 150 minutes reserve that I'm looking at. I suspect going with the minimum 520 CCA might be a cause for future pain.
Thanks
