Front Seat Drink Holder Problem Topic is solved

The front seat drink holder, the one with the cover that slides over it, will no longer open. Does anybody know what to do to fix this? How to remove the components so I can get to the closing mechanism?

Love my Volvo, but stuff like this drives me nuts.

three buttons (that control the opening of these items) slide vertically out.

i have the same problem as you, the problem on my car is that the plastic clip that holds an axle is place has snapped off, so it doesn't unlatch corrrectly.

one of these days i'll glue it back together (a bit stronger) 1
