Update on ETM and MAF issue Topic is solved

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Update on ETM and MAF issue

Post by wizbang »

The local Volvo dealer pointed out a bad ETM and MAF and wanted approximately $1200 to repair. The ETM was only 3 years old. I opted to order my MAF from IPD for $120 vs Volvo's $350. I also packed up the ETM and shipped it to Xemodex. That cost me just under $500. The EVAP hose to the manifold was replaced at this time since it was rotting and easily accessible with the ETM removed. I received both parts in quick order. Xemodex programs the ETM to the VIN so it is plug and play. I wasn't disappointed. After re-installation I started the car and let it idle until the engine was warm. A lengthy drive through the neighborhood and several miles down the interstate proved the repair to be excellent. Now that I've got all of the wrongs righted this is a nice car once again. There's only 81k on it but I've had to replace a lot of stuff. It will hopefully last 100k before major work again.
