2001 S60 T-5
118,600
Not sure of in service date, I bought the car in 2007 with 73,000 miles.
Old ETM was white label, appeared to be original ETM.
I noticed a slight surging between 1500-2000 RPMs for a couple of days then suddenly it went limp home. I did the installation myself. It went pretty smoothly. The car idled rough for a few seconds smoothed out at 1200 RPMs then dropped down to 750. Runs great. All surging is gone, great power. I have a Stage II tune from RICA Engineering. It works fine. I'm very pleased.

Vehicle: S70 T5M
Year: 2000
current Mileage: 197,400
In Service Date: July 2015
ETM sticker color: yellow
ETM replaced? Y
How Many times? dunno
Mileage ETM installed? 194,000

Bought the car in July or 2015 and knew it had a faulty yellow label ETM. Previous owner had it replaced with a yellow label at the dealership. I don't know if it was ever done before that. I went straight for the xemodex replacement and am very happy with the results. I've now just finished all stage one work along with complete suspension & steering parts replacement. Car runs & drives great

I had my ETM rebuilt by XeMODeX 1 year ago (April 2015) to fix chronic etm-related engine codes. Since then, it has not stored any codes and the car runs better than ever. Today, I had the car smog-tested for my registration renewal - no codes and no problems - I got my smog cert in 10 minutes. Therefore, I highly recommend XeMODex for their quick, professional service and an excellent product.

I bought this car two years ago, with only 62,000 miles shown. It ran ok at first, but began to pull a CEL code P0171 consistently. The engine run very roughly at idle once it was warm, and the auto transmission shifted very hard into the lower gears when coming to a stop. I invested two hours of labor at the dealer, who verified that the problem was the ETM. He was willing to apply that labor time to the replacement, and stated that he'd never had a vehicle with a Volvo replacement ETM come back to him. I believe him, I've had very good luck and satisfaction with this dealer (Volvo of Cincinnati), but I've had 35 years of experience in the electronics business, and I didn't want another unit with a pot in the control loop. I did have a problem with the Xemodex web site; the site doubled the core charge for the ETM. Cindy in customer support was very helpful, took my order and VIN number, gave me the web site discount, and Fed Ex called to confirm the next morning delivery time that same afternoon. My local mechanic installed the unit, and without removing the intake manifold or fan. The car runs so much better now it's incredible, and no software update was required. The engine and transmission track each other, and the shifts are much, much smoother. The idle is consistent at 700 rpm or so. I'll try to remember to update my experience in a year or so, but right now, I'm really happy.
Update - 1/23/17 - The car is now up to 139,000 miles, and I've had no difficulty whatsoever with the Xemodex unit.
