740 Turbo Intercooled; When engine starts,smoke can be seen coming from fuse box at that location. How do I locate the developing short & fix the problem.(Fuse box melting at that location#11,enging control/fuel pump.

The first place I would look is at the fuel pump relay, these are known to fail and if the relay contacts are corroded the symptoms could show up at the fuse box. Although the electrical system in 700 series is usually very reliable I would trace the fuel pump circuit (is is quite short) and check and clean all the contacts.
