oxygen sensor lite

Post by morrighan »

the Oxygen sensor lite comes on for a little bit, then goes off. I just had my oil change and lubes done at a Pronto Oil place. I need to get car inspected for new sticker, but will the oxygen lite be an issue? What should I do? I bought the car used, and it's great. But I don't know much about this lite and whether or not it will keep me from getting a sticker. What does the lite come on for?

you did not give year or model. may need to reset. often when a sensor failure is repaired or repplaced, warning light must be reset manually.
on 740 models from 80's to early 90's the reset button is behind a small rubber plug lower left side of speedometer. remove plug and push and relaese buttom with toothpick , micro-screwdriver, or similar.
