240 will not start

It was running fine, then the next time I tried to start it, it turns over fine and is getting spark but must not be getting fuel.
Now when you first try to start it, it sounds like a very small amount of fuel vapor is in the cylinders because you can hear a very small amount of combustion (like one cycle for each cylinder) but after that first rotation of the crank, you hear no attempt of combustion at all.

Oh wow, de ja vue!

When the car refuses to start, take a fist sized rock or other blunt object and tap on the main fuel pump. You will find this under the car below the drivers seat. If the car starts right away after the beating, your main fuel pump is going bad from dirt contamination.

Should you decide to replace the main fuel pump, you must also pull and replace the in-tank fuel pump and filter sock. This is an afternoon job for the do it yourselfer.
