over heating at a light

Post by svmatzu »

I have a 760 that wants to over heat at the stop lights. It has a fan on the engine and a electric fan in front of the radiator. Is the electric one a cooling fan or part of the AC. If a cooling fan when is it suppose to come on and what controls it.
Thanks.

The electric fan is for cooling the condenser (part of the AC system). It turned on by a relay that is triggered in combination of AC switch and coolant thermo switch (mounts on radiator). Have a mechanic check your thermostat, fan clutch, and radiator. Usually, a bad fan clutch or clogged radiator will cause overheating at stop lights.
