This is not as important as the transmission question, but...
Again, I have a '91 740. The bad bulb indicator light came on recently and will blink sometimes (I noticed when I'm braking it turns off) and turn on and off at random times, but it basically stays on indefinitely, however, all lights on the car work (it was just inspected). The ceiling light works, however, the driver door and the rear right door do not trigger the light when they are opened. Could this be the cause of the bulb indicator, even though the light itself is functional? Is there a way I can get the indicator to turn off?
Also, the ceiling fabric in the back is sagging, and I can't think of a way (if there is one) to reattach it to the ceiling or somehow paste it up there so it's not resting on my passengers' heads. Has anyone ever had this problem and fixed it? Any ideas appreciated! Thanks!

the foam behind the fabric deterioates and that is the cause of the falling headliner. I bought a kit from IPD for mucho denero but then found I could have bought the same stuff at the local foam and fabric outlet for about 1/4 what I paid. They also have the spray glue. Basically you take the cardboard backing down. wire brush it by hand to remove all the foam then spay glue and reattach. It is a big job. I cut my headliner in two pices to remove.
On the other thing The burned out light thing works by comparing the resistance of all light circuits. If you buy a bulb from another manufacturer you may have this problem, if you have corrosion you may have this problem, if the burned out bulb relay goes bad you may have this problem. If it drives you crazy take out the bulb or replace your bulbs in pairs, replace the relay, pull out hair and remove the bulb. I chased this in my wifes car and finally fixed it. She then told me that she liked the 'skull and crossbones'
