85 240 highbeam problem

Hello All,

I'm helping a friend with her 85 240 DL wagon and I've run into a snag. Her head light switch was bad so I replaced it with one from an 82 DL I got at a salvage yard. I installed it and it works fine EXCEPT when you switch to the high beams only the right side works. The left side turns off. Any ideas?

That is usually an indication that the ground is bad on the light that lights up. It is grounding through the light that doesen't. I would check your grounds.
