1986 has lh jetronic no cold start valve. It increases pulse witdt of injectors for cold start based on coolant temp. As with any no start condition check for fuel and spark. If you have fuel in combustion chamber and spark it has to do something.

there are quite a few things it COULD be, lets try to narrow it down.

charge battery
no gas pedal
try again if no start disconnect electrical connnection on air mass meter
try again if it starts now, turn off reconnect air mass if no start with air mass connected but it starts with it disconnected you have a bad air mass meter

no?

then it could be

fuel pump relay (white relay passenger side above right footl under carpet tap with your finger try to start)

main fuel pump
intank pre pump
electrical part of ignition switch
blown fuze
bad fuel pressure regulator
hall effect sensor in distributor

I am not suggesting you change all these, just check them out one at a time till you find the culprit or a new culprit that I haven't thought of.
