Hi,
I have an 1989 240GL, which I bought used. The antenna was broken down to a stump. I THINK it is NOT a power antenna. It is on the trunk, not the front of the car.
I just want to replace it with a cheap new mast--just to make it work. But I can't remove the stump. When I look in the trunk there is a long metal tube. Ideas on how to do this?
Thanks!
Tori

Sounds like a standard antenna. Just unscrew the outer conical part with a plier. Sometimes it is a conical part to make it look good and under that part you will find a big flat nut. The construction is always made in that way that the antenna base including the cable will be brought out through the trunk.
